The Maui Prince Hotel's A-shaped structure points toward a crescent beach and Molokini Islet in the distance. A 46-foot catamaran (surcharge) sails from the adjacent Maluaka Beach to Molokini Islet, one of Maui’s most pristine snorkeling spots.
Insider tip: Unlike most Maui resorts, the big, open-air, tentlike cabanas around the pools don't require a rental fee but are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Located in a five-story, A-shaped building, the Maui Prince Hotel Makena Resort's 310 air-conditioned guestrooms open to a garden atrium and offer partial or full ocean views from furnished lanais.
Amenities include high-speed and wireless Internet access (surcharges), bathrobes and slippers, 27-inch TVs with premium channels, and in-room safes. The Makena hotel has compact refrigerators and coffeemakers that include complimentary bottled water and coffee.
Rooms were renovated spring 2008 with new natural-wood furnishings, new artwork, larger beds, and new bedding.
